We met Zada 11 years ago by accident! My son surprised us with her … and it certainly was a surprise! At the time, we were taking care of my mom 24/7 in my home who had advanced dementia. Needless to say, there wasn’t much spare time, but we welcomed Zada anyway.
Not long after, my mom left us. Zada and I became a certified therapy team. We would spend countless hours working in a local assisted living home or visiting people who were ill, and home bound. We worked together until my son’s passing in 2015, at which time she became our therapy.
We recently had to say good-bye to our beautiful and sweet Zada. We are sad, yet, grateful that our son brought her home all those years ago. We are grateful that she was allowed to stay with us all these years after to help ease our pain. We are simply grateful for the gift of her love and companionship.
Little did we know the important role Zada would play in our lives. We will never stop thanking her. We miss her every minute of every day.
